Established in 1989 in Thammampatty, a village in Salem District, Tamil Nadu, Sengottuvel Wood Carvings aims to bring the art of 100% hand-carved wood products to the world. Our collection includes intricately crafted statues of Hindu Gods and Goddesses, wall mounts, wall brackets, wall panels, designer doors, pooja mandapams, frames, traditional wood swings, temple chariots, vahanams, pillars, and more. Every piece is a testament to the skill and dedication of traditional craftsmanship, proudly originating from our CraftsHut.

About the Founder
I am Sengottuvel, a 56-year-old craftsman and entrepreneur, proud to be the driving force behind Sengottuvel Wood Carvings. With a B.Sc in Chemistry, I found myself navigating a challenging job market after graduation. This led me to follow in the footsteps of my father, Mr. Palaniyandi, a living treasure in the art of wood carving. Under his guidance, I mastered the craft, from conceptualizing designs to overseeing their transformation into finished works of art.
Over the years, I have had the privilege of presenting our creations at various prestigious fairs, including:
